Konvergent was engaged by the Travelex Group HR leadership to shape their new TOM, using a business capability-led approach. They wanted to deliver real strategic value to the organisation rather than just being ‘keepers of the policies.’

This was a new approach for TOM design at Travelex. The project highlighted important capability and communication gaps across the HR function that were inhibiting growth and causing unnecessary issues.

Several challenges were addressed. They wanted to harmonise global HR processes and to make better use of their investment in Cloud technology. They also wanted to empower the wider HR leadership to communicate strategies effectively across different layers of employees in all countries and cultures within the Travelex Group.

Konvergent was engaged by the Group CIO, following a personal recommendation. Our task was to help Slater and Gordon evolve its reactionary and somewhat old-fashioned IT department into one that would meet the needs of a fast-paced international law firm.

Konvergent delivered significant objectives that supported their transformation. In particular, we helped them develop the following:
• A target operating model, particularly in the domains of information and IT systems
• A TDA function providing assurance for Solution Architecture
• A technology roadmap to support and enable the target operating model.

This work has led to Kier using Konvergent’s AaaS model for several projects across the facilities management domain.
Following a meeting over coffee in Barcelona, Kier engaged Konvergent in a strategic mission to bring enterprise architecture to the boardroom.

Kier's board wanted to increase cross-selling between their businesses, reduce costs and increase operational efficiencies. However, they knew that this strategy would require a heavy lift in business and data architecture.

This would require new skills and an expansion of their role beyond technology assurance and solution architecture. Unfortunately, they did not have buy-in from their IT Leadership Team.

Due to the lack of maturity, we had to focus our efforts on simplicity of message in order to get the necessary traction.
