How can EA provide quality customer service to both external and internal customers? This is an issue that I am sure every architect has encountered at some point. This insightful article focuses on the development of customer journey maps and the gaps identified between the various teams that support them.
This article references two core factors to the customer-centric experience in stakeholder engagement and EQ, something Konvergent wholeheartedly agrees with. It’s an approach we take ourselves.
However, in order to facilitate meaningful stakeholder engagement, Architects need to visually represent their customer’s world in a way the customer can understand. Only by creating clarity and communicating clearly, will you allow them to make informed decisions.
Without this, architecture is still a “pea souper” for the business. Architects may believe this is what their deliverables achieve, but their tools and outputs are built for the architect, not the customer. Clear, concise and easy to understand visual communication is the missing piece of this jigsaw. Make it easy for your business stakeholder to make a decision.
The last six months have brought completely new operating models to facilitate hybrid work as the pandemic subsides. Examples include cloud-enabled workspaces, collaboration and monitoring tools for the hybrid workforce, with remote workers in the information sector almost doubling since the pandemic.
Many organisations quickly enabled Teams or other collaboration tools 18 months ago, when organisations first needed to work from home. However, one of the questions that will need to be answered is whether organisations are architecturally able to support a hybrid workforce that has very different demands and expectations.
With hyper-automation joining authentic digital workplaces and as the next step in the global economy, are architecture functions able to support a critical step in business sustainability and transforming buildings from offices into collaboration hubs?
As we increasingly rely on the internet to process, use, and store more information ever, the environmental impact of this vast network of digital infrastructure is only set to increase in the future.
With the IT industry estimated to use 20% of all electricity produced by 2025, there’s no denying that as an industry, we need to look at alternatives ways of architecting our enterprises in order to achieve a sustainable future. EA teams should be leveraged to provide positive initiatives and understand the wider impact caused.
At Konvergent, we’ve recognised the need to offset our carbon footprint, using Ecologi to do just that. You can learn more about this fantastic scheme below.
